Join a committee!

The best way to receive a return on your MPI membership investment, is to get involved by being active on a committee.  Note:  You must be a member of MPISCC to serve on a committee.

Community Outreach Committee

MPISCC Cares exists to offer charitable volunteer opportunities and community interaction for chapter members in the areas our members work and live. Involvement in the MPISCC Cares committee is meant to address member charitable giving in a variety of ways, including through cash and item donations, plus volunteer time and talents.  This committee is looking for people to identify community involvement opportunities in which to connect our chapter members.  Past projects include:  Ronald McDonald walks, Union Rescue Mission clothing drives and food service, just to name a few.

Time Commitment:  One or two events a year; either sign up to volunteer for on-site involvement for a few hours or commit to organizing an event for that additional event planning experience.

Communications Committee

This team manages the publications, marketing, advertising, and public relations for the chapter. This includes updating the website, STATS e-blasts, and social media. This committee is looking for writers, proofreaders, and designers of all the chapter collateral materials to ensure the consistent look of the MPI and MPISCC brands.  Create press releases to promote the chapter’s monthly, annual, and philanthropic activities. Manage advertising and placement in the newsletter. Ensure chapter programs, activities, and accomplishments are highlighted to our chapter members.

Time Commitment:  This area has an on-going need throughout the year, so even if you can’t commit to an entire year to this team, there are projects that can be done and completed in your own home or office.

Education Committee

If you are looking to help on-site at events and meetings, then this area is for you.  The Education team manages the chapter’s educational efforts including: registration, site selection and logistics for monthly programs.  They develop program content and source speakers; lead special educational projects like the CMP/CMM study groups, After Five with MPI, Weekend Education Summit, and “Meeting Planning Basics and Beyond”.

Time Commitment: This is an area that requires more onsite help than others, yet the amount of time depends on the task.  Perhaps you want to learn more about meeting logistics?  This would be a good committee to assist with registration and set up.

Membership Committee

Membership is key to our chapters’ success.  This team is committed to increasing MPISCC membership. They manage the efforts to recruit new members, retain current membership and recognize members for their contribution to the success of the chapter.

Finance Committee

This committee is responsible for our annual fundraiser and MPI foundation fundraiser.  They are involved with gathering sponsorships, raffle items, and design and manage the actual fundraising events.

Time Commitment:  Fall fundraiser requires a team of people to dedicate themselves to the success of the event, which can take upwards of 20 hours within a month, but is a short term event.  In the Spring, we have our annual MPI Foundation fundraiser, which requires about 10 hours within a month and is also short term.  Ongoing projects include securing sponsorships for the chapter.
